RIP 2009-2011

Big news today. Unfortunately, DCFC frontman and singer/actress Zooey Deschanel announced that they are getting divorced. The couple married in 2009, and seemed to have a happy and fruitful marriage, making their split all the more sad.

According to US Weekly, a representative for the couple claimed “it was mutual and amicable.” The source also stated “there was no third party involved.”

Below you can watch a video of Ben and Zooey during better times, covering The Everly Brothers song, “Dream”.

Keys and Codes is Death Cab’s new remix EP which features killer remixes of tracks off Codes and Keys. It’s not out officially until  November 22nd, but they band will be streaming every Monday until the EP is released.

The first of these remixes comes from Aussie electro-kings, Cut Copy, as they have a go at “Doors Unlocked and Open”. Download the track below, and watch out next Monday for the next remix.

Death Cab continued to roll on through the Midwest last night with a show in Kansas City. Another great setlist, with “Brothers on a Hotel Bed” making appearance for only the third time this year, and also the super-rare “President of What?”. You Midwesterners are getting spoiled with all the best setlists!

Death Cab continued their Codes and Keys tour last night in St. Louis with another great show including a few more rarities in the setlist. What a treat “Your Heart Is An Empty Room” must have been for the lucky fans in attendance. Check out a great review of the show here.

Leave it to Death Cab to make me eat my words. Just yesterday I complained that they didn’t mix up their setlist enough on this new leg of their tour. Well, they must have read my complaint because at last nights show in Illinois they played a set full of super-rare tracks that haven’t seen the light of day all tour, including “Blacking Out the Friction” and “St. Peter’s Cathedral”. They even threw in my personal favorite, “Title Track”.

At long last, Death Cab finally is on the road again as their Codes and Keys tour kicks back up after a month long break. Last night, the guys played in Cincinnati, OH, and treated the lucky fans to a solid show full of new and old tracks. As far as the setlist goes, nothing major to report. Not that there’s anything wrong with the song selection, but I had a suspicion that they might change things up a bit on this new leg of the tour and throw some different tracks into the mix (cough “Scientist Studies” cough). However it doesn’t look that way after last nights show. Oh well.

Below, as usual, I’ve provided a full setlist and some videos from the show. I also ripped the audio from a few tracks and made them available for download. Just click on the tracks with links. Stay tuned for more free downloads!
